Beyond Diversity is a series of powerful, personally transforming seminars designed to help teachers, students, parents, and administrators understand the impact of race on student learning and investigate the role that racism plays in institutionalized academic achievement disparities.
Beyond Diversity Iis Pacific Educational Group’s foundation seminar and a prerequisite for all subsequent phases of equity professional learning. As Beyond Diversity has evolved, we have extended the work to other racial and ethnic groups to allow for a deeper analysis of the complex intersections of racial and cultural identity, language, and institutionalized racism. Beyond Diversity now encompasses two “Day 3” seminars that take a deeper look atthe Latino and Somali experiences in schools. Finally, Beyond Diversity II challenges participants to engage in a deeper understanding and personal progression in their racial identity development.
Target Participants: District Administrators, Principals, Teachers, All Staff, Parents and Community Members.
